What is a Hydraulic Steering Rack?

The hydraulic steering rack is used for the transfer the driver’s action into hydraulic pressure to control the vehicle to move to the desired direction.

A hydraulic steering system includes several parts: A pump, reservoir, valves and hoses. The pump will generate hydraulic pressure which goes to the appropriate valve.

The valve regulates the flow of the fluid and directs it to the hose and the hose is used to carry the hydraulic fluid to the wheels of the vehicle.

The whole system is located behind the front bumper of the car, in the engine bay.
